When your thoughts are beautiful, everything is beautiful
Parathan Thiyagalingam
Just as colours bring beauty to flowers, good thoughts bring beauty to our mind and body.
To foster positive thinking, we must sow good thoughts in our minds. By sowing good thoughts, we reap good actions. If we sow good actions, we can reap good habits. If we sow good habits, we can reap good character. If we cultivate good character, we will reap a good life.
The mind is like a monkey. It will constantly fluctuate between good and bad thoughts. We must remove negative thoughts and cultivate good ones. We should not let negative thoughts grow.
Some people celebrate even minor success with gratitude. Others are unsatisfied, thinking they should have achieved more, and fail to enjoy even the success they’ve achieved. This is not a healthy mindset.
Our minds are constantly flooded with fluctuating thoughts. Thoughts are what bring us both happiness and sorrow. When we put positive thoughts into action, life becomes beautiful. If we always believe that everything happens for our good, then only good things will happen.
You might have heard this story: A man was walking on a very hot day and found a tree to sleep under. A cool breeze blew. He wished for cold water, and he received it. He then wished for food, and that appeared as well, because it was a wish-fulfilling tree. Suddenly, he thought of a tiger attacking him, and that also happened, resulting in his death. The moral is clear. The positive thoughts bring good things, while negative thoughts bring harm.
So, how can we build good thoughts?
Always be happy with what you have. Don't constantly compare yourself to others and feel sad. Even when facing failure, find a way to succeed. These actions will foster good thoughts.
Thoughts arise when we process and develop what we experience through our five senses using our intellect.
உள்ளுவது எல்லாம்
உயர்வுள்ளல் மற்றது
தள்ளினும் தள்ளாமை நீர்த்து
Let all your thoughts be high even if they are not attained. The pursuit itself holds great dignity.
All thinking must be elevated and aspiring. Suppressing negative thoughts allows excellent ideas to be born.
“Clarify your mind; otherwise, turn this into a dead body” - Bharathi - a Tamil poet
Fostering noble thoughts in mind and putting them into action will lead to a sound and healthy society.
